AECOM Senior Project Manager, Zero Emission Transit in Whitby, Ontario

AECOM Canada’s Transportation business line is looking for a Senior Project Manager to lead a range of Zero-emission transit projects. The role will include providing technical leadership and expertise on Zero Emission technologies such as battery and hydrogen for bus, LRT, heavy rail and other transit modes as well as demonstrating the ability to effectively pursue and manage various zero-emission based lead projects. AECOM’s Canadian Transportation team works with a range of local, provincial, federal and global clients to provide technical advice, guidance and solutions to some of their greatest transportation challenges and needs.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead zero-emission transit-based projects, provide advice and input to major pursuits with a range of strategic clients, and act as a technical expert to help develop and grow other staff. Suitable applicants will have significant experience in the transit and zero-emission field, with an interest in business development and networking. The transit sector is currently undergoing a number of changes as new technologies and practices drive the next iteration of the sector, and this is an exciting opportunity to be at the leading edge of this change, playing an instrumental role in guiding and shaping transit for future generations.
Responsibilities and duties include:
o Contribute to a range of Transit based projects through technical planning and engineering, advice and guidance in the area of zero-emission technologies.
o Networking and development of new clients and projects in the zero-emission transit sector.
o Project Management and control of all aspects of various projects to achieve the client’s prescribed scope, time, cost and quality objectives through the application of formal project management process, techniques, and procedures
o Providing technical leadership and supervision of tasks, working with a range of transportation staff and other departments.
o Delivering assigned tasks on schedule and budget, while adhering to AECOM quality standards.

o Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, Transportation Engineering, Transportation Planning or a relevant engineering degree
o Minimum of 10 years experience in transportation engineering
o Minimum 2 years experience in zero-emission vehicle projects
o Valid professional accreditation, such as P.Eng or RPP or eligible within 12 months
o Technical knowledge of zero-emission propulsion systems such as battery-electric, hydrogen as well as hybrid systems, along with associated charging systems and retrofits.
o Experienced in report and proposal writing
o Experience in business development and presenting an asset
