Job Summary

Due to the continued growth and expansion of our Nuclear Power & Decommissioning Team in Warrington, we are looking to enhance our technical capabilities and are seeking to recruit an experienced Principal Structural Engineer.

You will have the vision, passion, leadership and drive to develop and lead project teams, as well as being a key point of contact with clients, partners and contractors.

This is an exciting time for the Nuclear Power & Decommissioning team with an interesting and expanding pipeline of both international and UK based projects.

Minimum Requirements

The successful Principal Structural Engineer will have/be:

  • Current experience working in a post where design was a major part of the role.

  • Extensive post Chartership experience working in roles where your engineering knowledge of relevant practices, techniques and procedures is a key attribute.

  • Experience of working within the Nuclear Sector, new build and decommissioning projects, in roles reliant upon professional engineering expertise and judgement.

  • Able to demonstrate leadership and management of project teams to successful delivery of projects to time and budget.

  • Preferably able to demonstrate a working knowledge of seismic/numerical modelling including finite element analysis.

  • Demonstrable mentorship and direction of technicians, graduates and near Chartership members of design team.

  • Understanding of design principles and ability to apply them.

  • Have a working knowledge of European and American Standards.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Full UK driving license or equivalent that permits driving in the UK.

  • Able to meet the requirements for security clearance in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Structural Engineering Degree, or equivalent.

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) with MIStructE or equivalent institute.
