Shipping/Packer Lead in
Under the supervision of the Supply Supervisor this position is responsible for overseeing the packaging of materials in preparation for shipment and/or storage in accordance with work instructions, Performance Work Statement requirements and other regulatory guidance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Prepares materials for shipment as required following appropriate packaging and preservation procedures.
Receives materials and performs receiving inspection in accordance with documented procedures.
Performs required material handling activities while ensuring safe and proper movement of materials to appropriate storage and/or issue points.
Count, sort, or weigh incoming/outgoing material to verify receipt/issue of items against receipt/shipping documents.
May be required to gather data and generate updates for processed shipments.
May be required to oversee the packaging of materials.
Ensure strict compliance to safety practices and support the Safety Policies and Procedures. Instills a safety first mentality within respective work areas and a culture that achieves low accident rates and minimal lost-time injuries.
Adhere to ISO Policies, Procedures, and Work Instructions in support of Quality Management System.
Performs other related duties as assigned or directed.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience: (One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required)
- 2 year experience with packaging materials or supply related activities.
Specialized Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge of Army equipment in regards to APS-5 equipment preferred.
Possess knowledge of Army Supply documentation such as DA Form 1348 and DA Form 2062.
Basic knowledge in the use of MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook and other related applications preferred.
Certification & License:
Work Environment, Physical Demands and Mental Demands:
Ability to perform job duties efficiently and effectively during a 72 hour work week.
Must be able to lift 25 Lbs. continuously, 50 Lbs. intermittently.
Must be able to work in extreme environmental conditions including dust and high temperatures.
Must be able to endure long hours, exposure to weather and hazardous conditions.
