AECOM Completions Engineer in Sydney, Australia

Job Summary

The role will play a vital part in the largest public transport project in Australia, revolutionising the way Sydney travels. The position of Completions Engineer reports directly to the Independent Certifier’s Representative and will be responsible for the construction, design changes and completion of major, multi-million-dollar infrastructure projects.

The position will be based on-site and will ensure that the evidence-based certification process is followed and that the work is completed to the approved design and specifications. The projects involve the major upgrading of existing rail and station infrastructure along a 13km stretch of heavy rail to accommodate a totally new turn up and go, driverless Metro service as part of the biggest urban rail project in Australian history.

You will have the opportunity to be challenged in working on large scale multi-disciplinary rail infrastructure projects, taking responsibility for ensuring that the construction complies with the certified design and coordinating resolution of in-field design issues during construction. The role will ensure that the design and construction achieve key objectives and meet the needs of our Client (Sydney Metro). The position will be the primary point of contact for both internal and external project stakeholders (Sydney Metro, TfNSW, Contractors, RMS, Councils etc.).

Minimum Requirements

You will have demonstrable qualifications and experience, including:

  • Substantial proven experience working on major infrastructure projects.

  • Prior exposure to Independent Certification / Verification is highly favoured.

  • The ability to confidently manage complex and sensitive consultations

  • Have a level of understanding of a diverse range of engineering disciplines, such as Civil, Structural, MEP, Rail Systems, etc. to aid in conversations

  • Sound experience in engineering principles of planning, design and scheduling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or similar.
