Job Description

As the AMER Benefits Lead, Senior Director , you will play a critical role in shaping and managing our AMER organization’s employee benefits programs and overall strategy. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, drive strategic initiatives, and ensure that our benefits offerings align with our company’s values and objectives. Based in Dallas, you will work hand in hand with the Global Total Rewards Leader on high impact deliverables and you will be “the face” of AMER Benefits, facilitating and leading in person strategic discussions with our C-suite leadership, including our CEO, President, CFO, and CHRO.

While the primary focus of this role is AMER (U.S., Canada, and Latin America), this role will also be responsible for overseeing any global benefits, vendors, agreements, programs, etc. which extend beyond AMER to the larger Global AECOM team (ex. global brokerage agreement).

This position will offer flexibility for hybrid work schedules (including a combination of both in-office presence and virtual/telecommute work) and will be based in Southlake, TX.

Leadership

  • Lead a team of talented, experienced professionals focused on delivering AMER (U.S., Canada and Latam) benefits, including healthcare, retirement (DC & DB), wellness, well-being and more

  • Support and grow a diverse and inclusive team, enabling collective success through trust, autonomy, accountability, and alignment

  • Lead with vision and passion in your field, in the market, and within AECOM

  • Serve as a catalyst for innovation and solutions

Benefits Strategy and Design

  • Review, modify, execute, and maintain a comprehensive AMER benefits strategy that supports our business goals and Total Rewards Strategy

  • Evaluate existing benefits programs, identify areas for improvement, and design innovative solutions

  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices to enhance our offerings

Vendor Management

  • Oversee relationships with benefit providers, brokers, and consultants

  • Negotiate contracts, monitor service levels, and ensure cost-effectiveness

  • Collaborate with vendors to enhance program features and employee experience

Program Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of new and/or modified benefits programs, including communication plans and employee education

  • Ensure seamless integration with HR systems and payroll processes

  • Monitor program adoption and address any issues proactively

Compliance and Governance

  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and national regulations

  • Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting related to benefits

  • Work closely with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks

Employee Engagement

  • Develop and execute communication strategies to educate employees about benefits

  • Promote wellness initiatives, employee assistance programs, and a supportive employer/employee relationship

  • Gather feedback and continuously improve the benefits experience

Data Analysis and Metrics

  • Analyze benefits utilization, cost, and effectiveness

  • Provide insights to leadership for informed decision-making

  • Monitor key performance indicators and adjust strategies as needed

  • Leveraging available technology to drive efficient and effective process and provide tool based solutions

  • Cleary and consistently defining the handoff between the function enablement, delivery, and HR operations teams

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree plus EXTENSIVE years of relevant experience including at least six years of people leadership experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Critical Skills/Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making skills

  • In-depth knowledge of benefits practices, with the ability to navigate a complex landscape of regulatory requirements and tax implications, including but not limited to ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, USERRA, PPACA, and IRS regulations

  • Ability to assimilate information quickly and to grasp big picture concepts as well as details; demonstrated business and financial acumen to translate the needs of core business functions into solutions

  • Thorough understanding of business financial plans/controls, strategic planning, contracts, and regulatory requirements

Critical Experiences:

  • Extensive experience leading all aspects of health and welfare benefits, retirement plans, and well-being programs for the US and Canada

  • Consulting and advising C-suite level leaders on high impact proposals and decisions

  • Request for proposal (RFP) process and vendor management for major vendors, including global brokerage agreements, consulting agreements, etc.

  • Demonstrated teamwork and team building skills in producing results and meeting organizational objectives

Preferred Experiences:

  • AEC industry experience

  • Large, complex, global company experience

  • LATAM countries experience

  • Workday HRMS experience

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $200,000.00 - $260,000.00.
