Job Description

Are you a Project Manager looking to work on building projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so we are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Southampton to work on various projects in the public and private sectors. You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.

AECOM Buildings & Places is made up of dedicated teams delivering projects in Commercial, Residential, Hospitality, Sports Venues, Work Places, Education, Government and Healthcare.

About Our Team: Our Southampton office has a team of 15 Project Managers who deliver complex and exciting projects throughout the region in a range of sectors.

We are friendly, busy and motivated with an established track record of successfully delivering local and overseas projects. Some of our flagship work in recent years include;

Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science centres, The Bank of England, BBC Broadcasting House, The Titanic building in Belfast and the St Pancras Chambers Hotel in London to name but a few.

Job Responsibilities:

You will be required to lead Project Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery under the supervision of an Associate or Director. You will need to provide an oversight / strategic guidance/audit & review, of a portfolio of projects at any one time. At times you may also need to provide effective support to Associate Project Managers on larger projects.

The duties are to ensure commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time. Part of this role is also to develop strong relationships with clients and members of the cross-functional team whilst being the primary interface with AECOM clients (new and existing) and manage the delivery of project management team outputs, in accordance with agreed time scales and quality standards.

You will need to be from a consultancy or client organisation with the ability to lead projects successfully.

Qualifications

As the successful applicant you will have the following experience and qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Pre and post contract design /project management expertise over the RIBA lifecycle

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • JCT &/or NEC Contract Administration (Accreditation a positive)

  • Maintain accurate project records (both paper and electronic)

  • Robust Stakeholder Management process

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional Qualification – ideally Project Management/ Construction/Engineering/Quantity Surveying Master’s Degree

  • Chartered Status with the RICS, CIOB, RIBA, ICE or other equivalent institution

  • APM affiliation preferred (as secondary accreditation)

  • Prince 2 or MSP experience is desirable but not essential
