AECOM is seeking a
Food Service Manager for an anticipated position supporting a logistical effort in the country of Africa. The FS Manager/Mentor shall provide assistance and mentoring to Danab personnel. Danab will identify and provide a minimum of six personnel to be mentored, in order to develop their abilities to manage the systems, infrastructure and logistics. These skills are required to support the six-hundred (600) - camp dining facility, and the Danab deployed to the field. The appropriately qualified candidate should be able to perform the following job duties:
The mentor will have the responsibility of supervising, supporting and assisting the preparation of three meals a day for 365 days a year.
The Camp FS Manager/Mentor will assist and mentor Danab personnel, with the objective of ensuring they are capable of developing policies, plans, inventory management, maintenance and warehousing to support the day-to day operations of the camp dining facility and to enable the projection of food service support to Danab units deployed to in the field from the 600 man camp.
The Camp FS Manager/Mentor will assist with coordination between Danab and SNA senior logistics representatives and other U.S. government-funded programs and personnel as it pertains to the Danab dining facility operations and Danab operations.
The FS Camp Manager/Mentor is responsible for coordinating all camp dining facility operational activities with appropriate Danab, SNA and others as required and/or requested.
The Camp FS Manager/Mentor shall work closely with the program managers of all USG-funded Danab assistance programs in Somalia to include DoD as applicable, as well as international partners to coordinate all food service efforts.
Camp FS Manager/Mentors responsible for supporting the Camp Manager in ordering, managing, inventorying food to support the 600-man camp. Contractor shall develop a plan to account and store sufficient pasta, flour, sugar, beans, cooking oil (sunflower and sesame), dry rations consisting of canned tuna fish and biscuits sufficient to support 600 hundred soldiers. Diet will also include appropriately selected and prepared meat for the dinner meal at least once a week. Contractor shall propose meal and calorie requirements to support the 600 Danab personnel.
Camp FS Manager/Mentor shall be responsible for Mentoring selected Danab camp food service personnel in order to develop their capability to manage, inventory and conduct food preparation to support the 600-man camp with three meals a day and to include supporting Danab troops deployed to the field.
Contractor shall plan so that meals are aligned to traditional diet or regional customs.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and be capable and willing to submit and pass random fitness for duty screening particularly for drugs and alcohol.
Former US Army Logistics officer with food service experience, minimum grade 03-04.
Additionally, suitable candidate will have at least 2 years of food service management, logistic support and management experience, to include overall inventory control, accountability, warehousing, supplies, services and material.
Experience working in an austere OCONUS environment, preferably in Africa.
Must possess an understanding of the need to conduct oneself in a diplomatic and culturally sensitive manner.
Must be capable of moderate physical exertion to include the ability to lift and carry items up to fifty- (50) pounds, be able to conduct travel and work within an equatorial environment with a Limited support infrastructure.
Must be proficient with personal computers and capable of using Microsoft office products such as word, power point, and excel.
