AECOM is seeking a
Camp Manager/Mentor for an anticipated position supporting a logistical effort in the country of Africa. The Camp Manager/Mentor shall be the contractor’s primary point of contact for all matters pertaining to this SOW and shall bear ultimate responsibility for ensuring the requirements described herein are met.The appropriately qualified candidate should be able to perform the following job duties:
The Camp Manager/Mentor shall provide assistance and mentorship on camp management to Danab personnel. Danab will identify and provide a minimum of four personnel to be mentored on the management of camp systems, infrastructure, and logistics required to support the Danab 600-man camp, as well as supporting Danab operations deployed to the field from the 600-man camp.
The Camp Manager/Mentor will assist the Danab personnel in the development of policies, plans, inventory management, maintenance and warehousing to support the day-to-day operations of the camp, and to enable the projection of logistics and support to Danab units deployed in the field.
The Camp Manager/Mentor will assist with coordination between Danab and SNA senior logistics representatives and other U.S. government-funded programs and personnel as it pertains to the Danab basecamp and Danab operations.
The Camp Manager/Mentor is responsible for coordinating all camp operational activities with appropriate Danab, SNA, and others as required and/or requested.
The Camp Manager/Mentor shall work closely with the program managers of all USG-funded Danab assistance programs in Somalia, to include DoD as applicable, as well as international partners to coordinate efforts.
The Camp Manager/Mentor is responsible for managing and inventorying food to support the inhabitants of the 600-man camp. The food will be delivered to Baledogle through other mechanisms.
The Camp Manager/Mentor shall mentor Danab camp management personnel to develop their skills to manage and inventory food to support the 600-man camp.
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
- Qualified applicants who are offered a position must pass a pre-employment substance abuse test and be capable and willing to submit and pass random fitness for duty screening particularly for drugs and alcohol.
Former US Army Logistics officer, minimum grade 03-04.
Suitable candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of camp management, logistic support and management experience, to include overall inventory control, accountability, warehousing, supplies, services and material.
Experience working in an austere OCONUS environment, preferably in Africa.
Must possess an understanding of the need to conduct work in a diplomatic and culturally sensitive manner.
Must be capable of moderate physical exertion to include the ability to lift and carry items up to fifty (50) pounds, be able to conduct travel and work within an equatorial environment with a limited support infrastructure.
Must be proficient with personal computers and capable of using Microsoft office products such as word, power point, and excel.
Due to nature of the work, candidate must be a US Citizen.
