Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Professional Civil Engineer to join our Central California team four our Central and South Coast region of California. The new position will support the growth of the Central California Department which serves local Special District and Municipal clients, as well as collaborate across regions within the Water Business Line. This is a seller/doer role where you’ll be integral not only in delivering technical expertise and project management but also in driving business growth through client development. Our team is involved with all phases of a project from planning, design, bidding and construction administration.
We’re looking for someone with a proven track record in water/wastewater and civil engineering projects, excelling both in technical execution and client relationship building.
Typical assignments include:
Technical
Planning including preparation of funding applications, environmental, Right of Way acquisitions, preliminary engineering studies, basis of design reports, master planning, and rate and connection fee studies.
Design including preparation of construction drawings and technical specifications as well as cost estimating.
Bidding including attendance to pre bid meetings, answering requests for information, preparation of addenda, and bid opening and analysis.
Construction which may include engineering services only such as review of requests for information and shop drawings submittals or full construction administration services including inspection services
Project Management
Management of multiple concurrent projects include their respective Scope, Schedules, and Budgets.
Manage AECOM Quality Assurance and Quality Control Program for assigned projects.
Seller/Doer
Cultivate and grow client relationships, actively seeking new opportunities with potential and existing clients.
Assist Client Account Managers in preparing proposals and business development strategies to win new projects.
Be the face of AECOM at client meetings and industry events, representing our expertise and capabilities.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
CA PE License
25% travel to client and office sites as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
10 years of municipal and special district engineering experience.
Experience in design and construction administration.
Project management experience
Business development experience
Water / Wastewater treatment process engineering experience
Water / Wastewater conveyance systems experience
Excellent communication skills
Excellent problem-solving skills

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $115,000.00 - $140,000.00.
