Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Remediation Engineer for immediate employment for the Santa Barbara, CA office. AECOM is proud to provide our employees with exciting, challenging projects.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Direct and oversee the selection, design, cost analysis, installation, and operation and maintenance of various remedial systems including air sparge, oxygen injection, soil vapor extraction and groundwater pump and treat.

  • Principal author responsible for preparing feasibilities studies reports, pilot test reports, corrective action plans, remedial action plans, and remediation progress reports

  • Work closely with the AECOM Project Managers and Site Managers to assure the treatment systems are operating in a cost effective manner and that the required up times are maintained and the systems are constantly be reviewed for optimization and are meeting design specifications and regulatory requirements.

  • Responsible for providing leadership and oversight, management, and mentoring of engineering staff

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree

  • 10+ years' experience

  • Technical expertise in soil and groundwater treatment technologies including vapor extraction systems, air sparge systems, enhanced in-situ bioremediation, in-situ chemical reduction, in-situ chemical oxidation, etc.

  • Experience with system optimization and troubleshooting

  • Experience working at refineries and other industrial facilities

  • Behavior-based Safety Culture

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional Certification

  • Experience in interacting with the California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Department of Toxic Substances Control and/or US EPA.
