Job Description
AECOM is seeking a \Project Manager II to be based in San Diego, CA
Manages one or more moderately complex project, involving a combination of the following:
Clients with a regional geographic footprint; OR,
Projects involving multiple services provided by regional IE offices; OR,
Other complexities, such as projects that involve litigation, environmental protection, due diligence, etc.
May manage all phases of projects (from beginning to close out).
Works mostly independently but receives basic instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects.
May supervise: senior level engineers (all disciplines applicable), as well as project administration, project controls, scheduling, cost control, estimating and procurement representatives.
Lead, coordinate, monitor, and schedule the work of staff and consultants for school building programs and modernization projects and in the preparation of plans, specifications, and calculations for all design work to ensure compliance with district policies and school bond contracts and requirements for the public construction bidding process.
Develop and implement new school buildings and modernization projects within specified budgets and timelines with minimum negative impact to school operations.
Establish, implement, maintain, and monitor due diligence, pre-planning, design, bidding and construction budgets, scope and schedules for bond funded school modernization and new construction projects.
Review and evaluate requests from administrators, contractors, or architects for change in project scope/contract documents and calculate cost of change.
Develop policies and procedures for managing school modernization and new construction projects.
Identify, research, and recommend strategies, innovative methods, materials, and products to reduce costs, increase efficiency, expedite implementation, and improve quality.
Identify, investigate, and report scope, schedule, and budget problems; prepare and implement recovery strategies.
Enforce construction contractor’s compliance with the terms and conditions of contract documents.
Provide periodic status reports and conduct regular meetings to demonstrate progress of project and to clarify issues.
Represent district in project administration by reviewing contractor schedule, negotiating changes in project scope, schedule, and costing control of projects.
Coordinate quality control, commissioning, and post-closeout.
Maintain liaison between district and outside architectural, engineering and landscape firms, contract consultants, community groups, and other local, state, and federal agencies.
Coordinate consultant and vendor selections and monitor preparation of consultant contracts.
Monitor budgets and coordinate and monitor contract amendments, change orders, project scope, and cost accountability; resolve design and construction related problems.
Coordinate the preparation, completion, and update of records, drawings, specifications, and related documents for construction.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 2 Years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications:
8 Years of Construction and Project Coordination Experience
Project Management Experience in the educational field
Educational Bond Experience
K-12 Construction Experience
Additional Information
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $85,000.00 - $134,000.00.
