Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a Mechanical Process Senior Project Manager to be located in Northern California including the cities of Oakland, Sacramento or San Jose. This position will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in water engineering with primary focus on water systems mechanical process (hydraulics, pipelines, pump stations, treatment, etc.). A seller/doer position responsible for supporting and developing the business line. Duties include marketing, technical support, project development and project management.

  • Marketing – Prepare marketing plans, identify opportunities, assist with preparation of proposals, and attend interviews.

  • Technical – Prepare/review calculations, design criteria, technical memorandums, research, and attend meetings to discuss and present findings/recommendations to clients. Preparation of contract documents: plans, specifications, cost estimates and schedules. Construction support to clients.

  • Project Development - Supporting clients through the full project lifecycle: planning/design/construction/operations. Preparation of facility evaluations, alternative analysis, cost estimates, drawings, specifications, bid and construction support.

  • Project Management - Maintenance of project budget and schedule. Management of multi-disciplined project teams and sub-consultants.

Projects include pipelines, pump stations, transmission, distribution, hydraulics, modeling, planning, design, operations and maintenance.

Good communication skills are the key to success. Writing skills are critical.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement

  • BS Engineering – Civil/Mechanical. and 10+ Years experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.

  • Licensed California PE or ME

Preferred Requirements

  • Industry Leadership – AWWA, WEF, Hydraulics Institute, Etc.

  • Senior Technical Leadership, Design Manager for Large Hydraulic Facilities.

  • Engineering support during construction.

  • Senior Project Manager Leadership for Projects Valued Over $1M.

  • Experience Serving Municipal Water/Wastewater Agencies.

  • Software Capabilities: MS Office Suite; Knowledge and management of CAD, Hydraulic and Hydrodynamic Modeling, Finite Element Analysis.

  • Exceptional Technical Skills in Science and Engineering,

  • Excellent Communications Skills

  • Outstanding Client Service and Project Management Capabilities.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 - $240,000.00.
