Job Summary

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Civil / Environmental Engineer II/III for employment in the Rocky Hill, CT office. The great variety of projects and assignments available at AECOM will give the candidate multiple opportunities to gain experience on projects that can lead to a rewarding and diverse career. The candidate will be working with and in support of Project Managers and task order leaders.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Technical writing and data management

  • Organizing, analyzing, and interpreting analytical laboratory data to evaluate remediation efficiency, delineate contaminant plumes, and describe temporal trends of contaminants

  • Preparing work plans, reports and project deliverables

  • Developing scopes of work and preparing cost estimates

  • Conceptual remediation designs and specifications

  • Coordinating with subcontractors and subconsultants

  • Working under supervision of a Project Manager or Senior Level Team Member

  • Working both in the office and in field on projects as needed for a wide variety of remediation and construction sites

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental/Civil Engineering or other related fields

  • 2+ years of experience for Level II

  • 5+ years of experience Level III

  • Good understating of health and safety aspects of contaminated land projects

  • Experience preparing reports (e.g., soil, groundwater, or vapor intrusion investigations) for submittal to clients and state agencies

  • Experience with working on complex construction projects, and remediation system operation and maintenance

  • Experience with site investigation techniques, developing conceptual site models, and preparing remediation strategies

  • Strong team worker, flexible and hard working

  • Attention to detail and a thorough approach to work

  • Strong communication skills at all levels

  • Organized and able to manage multiple tasks at a time

  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (e.g., Word, Excel and standard office software)

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE or EIT

  • Task management experience and skills

  • Exposure to Connecticut environmental regulations (CT preferred)

  • Experience with soil sampling, drilling, and well installation

  • Practical experience with pilot and treatability testing, and implementing remediation systems

  • Experience with working on large-scale remediation systems
