The Water Business Unit of AECOM in Roanoke Virginia is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Civil Engineer to join our team after Graduation in May 2019. The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate the potential for success in Civil Engineering specific to site design and land development engineering. The incumbent can look forward to projects ranging from individual building site plans to campus-wide developments. Minor water/wastewater work may be included. International travel is a requirement for this position. AECOM will be targeting a May 2019 graduate. Due to nature of the work, a U.S. Citizenship is required.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Creation of designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for site design projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Preforming analysis of alternatives and verification of designs using computer software and other methods under the supervision of an experienced engineer
Perform field work to document existing site conditions and constraints
Coordination with other design disciplines
B.S. in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field
Valid driver’s license required
U.S. Citizenship required and ability obtain clearance to military bases domestically and internationally
M.S in civil engineering, environmental engineering or related field
Demonstrated coursework in land development engineering, drainage design and modeling, site planning and design, and other site/civil design related courses
Engineer in Training Certification
Strong written and oral communication, quantitative and interpersonal skills
Proficient use of PC-based applications ( MS Word, Excel, Access), as well as motivated, hardworking team player with attention to detail
Experience with AutoCAD 3D
Strong work ethic and professional demeanor
