Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Architect with expertise in design review and on-site project management. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating architectural designs, conducting thorough design reviews, and providing expert guidance to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. Additionally, the Architect will play a crucial role in overseeing construction activities, ensuring that projects are executed according to approved plans and specifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Design Review:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of architectural drawings, plans, and specifications to assess compliance with building codes, zoning regulations, and design standards.

  • Evaluate design proposals for functionality, aesthetics, sustainability, and safety considerations.

  • Identify potential design issues, discrepancies, or conflicts and provide recommendations for resolution.

  • Collaborate with design teams, clients, and stakeholders to address feedback and make necessary revisions to design documents.

  • Regulatory Compliance:

  • Stay abreast of local building codes, zoning ordinances, and regulatory requirements applicable to architectural projects.

  • Ensure that design proposals adhere to relevant codes, standards, and best practices.

  • Liaise with regulatory authorities and obtain necessary permits and approvals for proposed designs.

  • Project Management:

  • Oversee on-site construction activities to ensure that work is carried out in accordance with approved design plans and specifications.

  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Address any design-related issues or discrepancies that may arise during the construction phase and collaborate with stakeholders to implement effective solutions.

  • Client Interaction:

  • Communicate effectively with clients to understand their project goals, preferences, and expectations.

  • Present design recommendations and provide expert guidance to clients on design-related matters.

  • Foster positive relationships with clients by demonstrating professionalism, responsiveness, and a commitment to delivering high-quality architectural solutions.

  • Team Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with architectural design teams, engineers, consultants, and contractors to ensure alignment of design intent with project requirements.

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members involved in design review and site supervision activities.

  • Foster a collaborative and supportive work environment that encourages knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.

  • Professional licensure as an Architect (RA) preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in architectural design review and on-site project management.

  • Proficiency in reviewing architectural drawings, plans, and specifications.

  • Strong understanding of building codes, zoning regulations, and regulatory requirements.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
