AECOM Traffic Safety Engineer in Raleigh, North Carolina

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Traffic Safety Engineer for employment in the Raleigh, NC office. AECOM is searching for candidates that have the ability to be a role model, be client-focused, be impactful and be decisive. The candidate should have experience in field health and safety plan (HASP) preparation and monitoring, site safety audits, and OSHA regulatory compliance activity.
The candidate must be knowledgeable in traffic safety analysis, specifically with the North Carolina Department of Transportation.
Responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to:
Performing crash analyses
Drawing collision diagrams
Conducting field safety investigations
Analyzing crash patterns
Making safety improvement recommendations, and any other tasks or efforts pertaining to traffic safety.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
2+ years of experience working on traffic safety projects
North Carolina NCDOT or other DOT experience required
Understanding of NCDOT (or other DOT) guidelines / procedures / policies
Ability to scope / estimate simple and complex tasks
Track and manage task budgets and schedules
Demonstrate leadership skills and communication skills requiring client interaction
Ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams is essential to this role
Familiar with MicroStation/AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, NCDOT Traffic Engineering Accident Analysis System (TEAAS)
EIT or ability to obtain
PE in Civil Engineering and 5 years of experience
TEAAS Training Certification
Familiar with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD) and the Highway Safety Manual (HSM)
Additional areas of expertise could include: traffic modeling, traffic capacity analysis, traffic simulation, transportation planning, GIS, roadway design, community studies
