On Friday, interviews will take place at our Raleigh office . This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting immediately and in Spring/Summer 2025.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking an Air Quality Scientist in our Raleigh, NC office. In this role, you will perform scientific air pollution measurements requiring field application of standard EPA techniques and procedures.
This position is expected to begin in June/July 2025.
Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:
Utilize scientific principles and EPA environmental testing methods to collect data and solve problems for clients
Interact with other scientists and engineers to apply expertise to specific phases of projects
Collect and enter test data using EPA methods and applies technical principles and theories
Record and interprets data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Calibrate, repair, and maintain test equipment
Select and prepare equipment for field deployment
Transport equipment and mobile laboratories to client sites
Work to complete tasks under minimal supervision
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BS Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
Ability to climb ladders, work at heights in outdoor climates year-round, lift and carry equipment weighing up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to obtain medical clearance for DOT driving and for wearing a respirator
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with continuous emissions monitoring systems (CEMS), EPA Methods and emissions monitoring equipment
Aptitude and experience with electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair
40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Understanding and application of the fundamentals of schedule and budget management to project tasks
Ability to prioritize and schedule tasks for self in workshop and in field
Knowledge and ability in the practices required to generate valid scientific data

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $45,000.00 - $64,000.00.
