Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Transportation Group Lead / Senior Project Manager to work out of our Portland, OR Office .

JOB SUMMARY:

This position will closely coordinate activities with the Seattle Office team in the furtherance of meeting the West Division’s growth and delivery goals. Although based in Portland, it is envisaged that the individual will also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of divisional transportation pursuits and projects. This individual will support the Transportation Division for the West Region in execution of highway, roads and rail and transit contracts for program management, planning , design, and construction management. In addition, the ideal candidate will possess experience in managing staff and tasks associated with these types of contracts, as well as supporting various transportation professional services pursuits related to major capital programs including highways, roads, light rail, heavy rail, or commuter rail. This position will manage multidiscipline teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget on multi-million tasks or projects, lead meetings with clients and stakeholders, and mentor junior to mid-level staff.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead development and execution of significant road and highway, rail/transit projects including light rail, commuter rail, high speed rail, and/or bus rapid transit surface, aerial or underground project pursuits and delivery (traditional and alternative)

  • Conduct business development to expand AECOM’s over all transportation practice in the west region by establishing new relationships and maintaining longstanding relations with major clients in California, Oregon, and Washington.

  • Develop proposals, participate in client pre-positioning activities (internal/external), and participate in the execution of selection interviews.

  • Staff and manage multidisciplinary transportation project teams during project development and execution.

  • Work with external contractors/consultants, AECOM’s other divisions/regions and interact directly with major clients

  • Be a visible leader and trusted advisor to clients by promoting AECOM’s values both internally and externally

  • Manage multidiscipline teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget on multi-million tasks or projects.

  • Mentor junior to mid-level staff.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience of demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Must have a PE in the state of Oregon or ability to obtain one within 1 year of starting

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of experience directly managing engineers and/or technical staff.

  • 15+ years of experience in the design and management of complex multidisciplinary civil works.

  • 5+ years of experience in managing the delivery of large complex transportation projects.

  • Experience with representing an engineering company that holds a prime contract with a key client.

  • Demonstrate an established career in the highway and rail transit industry.

  • Have strong working relationships with west region clients in Oregon, Washington, and California.

  • Proven successful track record of business development, client service, and transportation program management.

  • Track record of increasing market share in the transportation sector

  • A recognized leader in developing and nurturing relationships with key clients

  • A team-oriented individual that can work with operations, project and marketing staff of all levels

  • Ability to collaborate across disciplines and business lines for integrated delivery and growth

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrated team-building, and internal/external networking skills

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant software programs

  • Offered rate of compensation (Oregon locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $122,820.39 - $227,217.73.
