Job Description

AECOM's Transportation business line has a position available in Piscataway, NJ for a Senior Civil Engineer with Highway Design experience. In this role the selected candidate will be working on projects associated with New Jersey Turnpike projects as well as bridge replacement projects.

The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Leadership on Projects: Acting as the lead engineer for significant projects, guiding the technical direction.

  • Quality Control: Reviewing design calculations and drawings to ensure accuracy and quality.

  • Technical Expertise: Providing expert knowledge in technical studies and design tasks.

  • Reviewing Work: Performing quality control on work done by other engineers, ensuring standards are met.

  • Budget and Schedule Management: Preparing estimates for engineering budgets and timelines for large projects.

  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Participating in cross-functional reviews to assess and improve project deliverables.

  • Mentoring: Guiding and supporting junior engineers to help them develop their skills.

  • Cost Estimation: Creating detailed construction and technical effort cost estimates for projects.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering required plus 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education

  • Relevant experience must include highway design experience on NJ Turnpike and/or NJDOT projects

  • Demonstrated experience of the NJ Turnpike's and NJDOT's design criteria and procedures is required

  • Experience with geometric design, utilities, MPT, ROW, signing, and striping as well as contract document preparation is required

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience is desired

  • Experience in MicroStation using InRoads and OpenRoads

  • New Jersey PE License is preferred or ability to obtain via reciprocity

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $160,000.00.
