Job Description

AECOM seeks an experienced, proven Program Manager to lead Federal/Dept of Energy(DOE) environmental remediation projects. The candidate may work remotely within the US but will be expected to travel to specific DOE job sites periodically for possibly extended periods of time.

Our DOE clients expect us to bring the best people, ideas, technical expertise and digital solutions to our work in the environmental, transportation, buildings, water and energy market space.

Required qualifications for the DOE Program Manager include a proven track record of:

  • Managing and leading federal performance based/fixed price remediation projects

  • Close successful collaboration with DOE Tier 1 contractors and other stakeholders

  • Familiarity with DOE environmental programs, contaminants and organizational framework of the agency

  • Managing and directing professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects

  • Achieving contractual performance and financial milestones

Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, those listed below:

  • Familiar with project invoicing and cash flow management

  • Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles, theories, and practices

  • Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems

  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance

  • Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking

  • Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to internal regional and environmental management

  • Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies

  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team

  • Supervises junior and mid-level staff during all phases of project work

  • Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement

  • DOE business development

  • Oversee and develop technical approaches and cost estimates for proposals

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required.

  • Valid U.S. Driver's License is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional license (PG, PE) or registration (PMP, CHMM)

  • Strong knowledge and track record in the environmental / remediation business inclusive of risk-based strategic asset management and advocacy in multiple state jurisdictions working for an Environmental Consultant

  • Experienced with Legacy Management Programs

  • Respected people manager and successful team builder

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences

  • Excellent active listening skills

  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal

  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations

  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere

  • Must be a team player and able to work collaboratively with and through others

  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges

  • Familiarity with DOD environmental cleanup programs (CERCLA, RCRA, etc.)

Additional Information

Please note that this role can be based anywhere in the United States and compensation data will vary in each location, including higher or lower than the stated range.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 - $205,000.00.
