Job Summary

We have a unique opportunity for a driven Marine Environmental Scientist looking to take the next step in their career to be a part of our leading Marine Sciences / Impact Assessment and Permitting Team based in Perth.

Reporting into the Team Leader – Marine Environmental Services, you will be part of a high performing and dynamic team renowned for delivering best practice marine environmental impact and permitting services for all phases of our clients' projects from approvals to construction and operations.

This position will provide you with an opportunity to further develop your career with client exposure and a greater level of responsibility. Collaborating with members of multidisciplinary teams, you will gain exposure to a diverse array of high profile projects across a range of sectors including oil and gas, ports and harbours, Defence, renewable energy and mining. You will work amongst a team of experienced peers and alongside our clients, while learning first-hand from our in-house senior advisors and technical leaders.

We are looking for an experienced marine scientist who can contribute to the preparation of high-quality environmental impact assessments and environmental approvals, including the planning and execution of technical studies and monitoring programs.

You will also be responsible for key project related tasks as required, which may include development and implementation of technical studies and assessments, data analysis, technical writing and presentations.

Minimum Requirements

  • Attention to detail a willingness to take on new challenges and think innovatively to solve challenges you may encounter

  • 4 to 8 years relevant industry experience in in marine environmental science. Experience in offshore oil and gas approvals would be beneficial.

  • Experience in planning and implementing field studies in remote locations (offshore preferred)

  • Statistical data analysis and GIS skills.

  • Demonstrated client focus

  • A sound understanding of environmental legislation and regulatory requirements for both offshore (oil and gas) and coastal marine developments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in appropriate discipline (e.g. BSc. Env Sc. or similar with a Marine Science or Biology major)
