Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be based in Orange, CA; Denver, CO; Detroit, MI; Minneapolis, MN or Columbus, OH.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineer works in a highly collaborative environment on a wide range of projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for designing building mechanical systems. The candidate will have the opportunity to design the projects from concept up to construction and delivery to the Client with support from a Senior Engineer.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.
Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments. Identifies discrepancies in results.
Performs work in accordance with the agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.
Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the Mechanical discipline
Organizes and conducts site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of mechanical systems, equipment, components, and materials for projects with well-defined scopes
Mechanical engineering from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancy
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field plus two (2) years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)
Comfortable working in a high energy environment with frequent swift deadlines.
Experience in the construction industry.
Desire to be mentored by leadership.
Strong written and oral communication
Strong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.
Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCAD
Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.
Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
Additional Information
Hybrid work environment – Fully remote position not available.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $72,000.00 - $90,000.00.
