Job Description

AECOM Water is actively seeking a highly talented and responsible Civil Engineer (CE) for immediate employment in Orange, CA. The Civil Engineer (CE) will be responsible for the effective coordination of the engineering design of conveyance and pump station projects, and construction teams and can interact closely with the Design and Quality Control Managers. The CE is the primary point of contact to the engineering vice president and serves in this lead role being the liaison and is responsible for providing the necessary direction upon coordination with Contractors, Project Engineers, Inspectors, and Owner and their Agents. The Civil Engineer will have the primary responsibility for the quality assurance of the project. The CE will actively participate in design and construction meetings with the Contractor, Subcontractors, Project Design Engineer, and the Owner.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Lead technical studies and design for projects including:

  • Water and/or wastewater conveyance and collection system pipelines,

  • Pumping stations (potable water, wastewater, stormwater)

  • Water storage (steel/concrete tanks)

  • Civil site improvements

  • Manage conveyance projects with open-cut or trenchless technologies.

  • Provide direction on study and design procedures to facilitate high quality cost effective work by others.

  • Participates in interdisciplinary review of project deliverables.

  • Supports development of construction cost estimates and estimates of technical efforts for projects.

  • Performs quality control review of design calculations, specifications or drawings.

  • Prepares technical specification sections.

  • Provides input to the development of engineering budget and schedule to meet requirements.

  • Mentor junior and intermediate staff and CAD staff and provide civil engineering support as may be required to the other departments within AECOM

  • Organize project teams to support project design and execution

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS 6 Years of experience and or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.

Preferred Requirement

  • PE or ability to obtain within 24 months of hire

Compensation

Exempt Position: The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $93,000 - $135,000 USD depending upon experience.
