The Associate will provide support to the team on existing highway asset management projects, pavement and materials design, research and life cycle modelling for projects in the UK and overseas. They will be expected to grow the asset management service offering both to new clients and geographically.
The successful candidate must have extensive post graduate experience in strategic and tactical asset management, highway operations and maintenance, pavement design and construction supervision of civil & infrastructural projects.
Job Duties :
Support the Team Leader and other team members in delivering highway asset management, pavement and research projects.
Contribute to team strategy planning considering market and growth in the UK and overseas.
Liaise with communicate with internal AECOM team leaders to develop and grow the highway and airport asset management services.
Implement the technical quality requirements, address the project brief, meeting the client’s programme and budget control within AECOM’s Project Management system.
Take ownership of project tasks.
Develop and review proposals for a wide range of transportation projects.
Prepare and review highway asset management strategy, policy and life cycle plans for private and public sectors worldwide.
Write, review and deliver project asset management, design and due diligence reports.
Provide training and mentoring to junior staff.
Display a positive attitude to all activities and tenacity to meet deadlines.
Liaise with clients, coordination/chair kickoff/progress meetings/workshops.
Your skills profile should be a combination of the following areas:
Experience working with government transport-based clients (e.g. DfT, Highways England, TfL, Transport Scotland, local authorities, overseas highway authorities), or PPP/PFI/DBFO concessionaires and asset owner/operators.
Experience in development and implementation asset management plans and operation and maintenance for highways projects.
Experience of task and project management, including financial performance and project controls
Experience of providing engineering / technical asset management consultancy/research advice
Experience in UK and international pavement design, evaluation, material specification and maintenance management for highway and airport projects.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and stakeholder management skills
Strong analytical and reasoning skills
Ability to develop innovative solutions and exhibit innovative thinking
Degree (minimum) in transport-related discipline
Ideally Chartered with a relevant institution (e.g. ICE, CIHT)
Member of the Institute of Asset Management (IAM) is an advantage
