Position Title Engineering Technician III (Mechanical) Part-Time

AECOM is actively seeking Engineering Technicians (Mechanical) Part-Time to provide equipment and system expertise to aid in trouble shooting, repair, assessment analysis, inspection, maintenance, and operation of diverse mechanical equipment and systems in accordance with engineering specifications. The position will be located at the Norfolk, Virginia office.
Essential Responsibilities: Primary skills required are in condition based maintenance assessment and water tight door repair, expertise is recognized in candidates with some previous marine electrician training.
Must be able to read drawings and specifications
In-depth knowledge of electrical circuitry, electrical principles and their practical application
Ability to comply with quality standards, regulatory requirements, and safety practices
Perform assessment and repairs
Position may involve routine lifting up to 50 pounds, regular handling, grasping, kneeling and carrying, and constant use of vision and mental alertness is required.
Minimum Seven (7) years’ experience in the operation, repair and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion machinery, electrical distribution or ordnance systems.
Shall demonstrate ability to:
Provide on the job training to technical personnel in operation, trouble shooting, maintenance and repair including use of test equipment)
Provide accurate and concise technical task reports
Position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Desired: Ten (10) years’ experience within the last 20 years in the operation, repair and maintenance of naval or marine propulsion machinery, electrical distribution or ordnance systems. A minimum of four (4) of the years should have been in a position of team leader or coordinator over a subordinate work force involved in the physical maintenance and repair of US Navy mechanical, electrical or electronic equipment and systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Desired: Four (4) years’ experience within the last 10 years with 600 psi or 1200 psi steam propulsion, diesel propulsion or gas turbine propulsion and ancillary equipment.
At a minimum two (2) of the years should have been in the administration of the Navy 3-M and supply system, OR
At a minimum four (4) of the years should have been in auxiliary and deck machinery, OR
At a minimum two (2) of the years should have been in the administration of Navy 3-M and supply system.
