Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Digital Technology Specialist to be based in New York, NY .

The Digital Technology Specialist will assist on transit/rail projects, including power distribution design, CCTV, access control, public address, networking, telecom, wireless communication, fare collection, passenger info systems, and experience in system inspections.

This position is expected to begin as soon as possible.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Interfacing with the various disciplines for the development of site plans, duct banks and ground grids.

  • Preparing designs and ensuring compliance of design with all applicable codes and regulations.

  • Preparing material/equipment specifications and purchase requisitions; review supplier data, witness shop tests and assess supplier manufacturing capabilities.

  • Developing and modifying single line diagrams, schematics, conduit, and wire schedules.

  • Performing tests and issue reports, identify non-compliances according to quality procedures and direct remedial actions.

  • Developing technical, design, and functional specifications for the power equipment, accessories and related systems’ replacement and installation.

  • Building technical documentation using client specifications, design standards and their own research as inputs.

  • Conducting research and analyses relating to existing or required technical documents, involving client processes, operations, and safety standards.

  • Reviewing vendor documentation to ensure compliance with client standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Ensuring documentation is accurate, complete, and adheres to style guidelines to ensure high quality and usability.

  • Developing technical and construction cost estimates for projects and developing engineering budgets and schedules to meet requirements.

  • Liaising with subject matter experts / engineers and clients, coordinating on the content of technical documentation, and performing independent research of existing technical specifications to revise and refine them.

  • Assist with the development of technical proposals.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field OR demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

  • Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with power distribution design, CCTV, access control, public address, networking, telecom, wireless communication, fare collection, passenger info systems and experience in system inspections.

  • Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit3D modeling.

  • Strong experience in problem solving and analysis in a technical capacity.

  • Excellent communication, research writing and organizational skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Experience with system testing and verification.

  • Experience with project management tools and methodologies.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $68,787.00 - $120,377.00.
