Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced Deputy Program Manager to manage the day-to-day activities of execution and delivery of design-build services for a new borough-based jail in NYC.

Responsibilities include :

  • Provide construction management and administration services for a design-build project.

  • Support the project leadership in monitoring contractor adherence to approved plans, specifications, and appropriate governing code.

  • Document construction activity related to the progress of the work and any issues that may arise. When necessary, point out conditions that may lead to unsatisfactory work.

  • Coordinate the construction management staff which will include inspectors, schedulers, estimators, site safety, and document controls. Also provide coordination with design team, program controls team, community outreach team, and other stakeholders.

  • Interface with the construction contractor’s work force, primarily with management but also foremen and field supers, as appropriate to implement the work.

  • Identify deficient contractor work, monitor, and verify that the Contractor effectively corrects deficient work. Record and drive to resolution corrective actions.

  • Manage and apply program level policies and procedures to the specific project.

  • Maintain proper reporting and records management covering contracts, drawings, correspondence, progress reports, as well as oversight of permits and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Monitor Contractor compliance with the Contractor's Safety and Health Plan and with specific Safe Work Plans. Record and drive to resolution corrective actions.

  • Monitor and ensure Contractor's compliance with the approved Contractor's Quality Plan in coordination with Quality specialists on-site including Contractor's and stakeholder representatives.

  • Communicate with the client about management of scope, budget, and staff. Maintain good working relationship and close interface with client.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field + 8 years of experience in construction projects of various complexity.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience managing construction projects of various complexity in traditional and alternate project delivery methods. High rise experience preferable.

  • Experience working with New York City public agencies.

  • Solid interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities and capacity to build and maintain relationships.

  • Effective leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve challenges and generate effective solutions.

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effective communication skills.

  • Fast learner with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and processes.

  • Solid proficiency in construction management software and project management tools.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $160,000.00 - $240,000.00.
