Job Description
AECOM is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Technical Director with more than 20 years of experience to join our team. As the Electrical Technical Director, you will play a pivotal role in leading and managing the Electrical design aspects of our projects. You will be responsible for providing technical expertise, guiding teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of high-quality Electrical solutions to our clients across various sectors including buildings, data center, commercial real estate, airports, hospital, hospitality, industrial etc.
Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership : Provide technical leadership and guidance to Electrical design teams throughout all project phases, including conceptual design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Project Management: Oversee the Electrical design process, ensuring that projects are completed within scope, budget, and schedule constraints while meeting quality standards and client expectations. project metric collection, analysis and utilization overseeing all internal and external project dependencies and critical paths.
Client Engagement: Collaborate with clients to understand their requirements, develop project scopes, and deliver innovative Electrical solutions that align with their goals and objectives across all the sectors.
Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of Electrical engineers, designers, and technicians, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning across various project types. Perform due diligence on external development teams, evaluating tools, techniques, personnel, and processes. Responsible for resource planning and utilization of the team.
Quality Assurance: Implement quality assurance processes to review and validate Electrical designs, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and best practices, with a focus on the specific needs and challenges across the sectors. Supervise technical Audit process and implementation in the Projects.
Technical Expertise: Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and advancements in Electrical engineering, and incorporate them into project designs to enhance performance, sustainability, and efficiency, particularly in specialized environments like data centers and industrial facilities.
Risk Management: Identify and mitigate technical risks associated with Electrical design, proactively addressing challenges to minimize project disruptions and optimize outcomes in diverse sectors including data center, commercial, airport, and industrial.
Collaboration: Foster collaboration and coordination with other disciplines, such as architecture, structural engineering, Mechanical engineering, and environmental engineering, to integrate Electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs across a range of sectors.
Business Development: Support business development efforts by participating in client meetings, proposal development, and presentations, showcasing AECOM's expertise and capabilities in Electrical engineering across sectors.
Experience Required:
More than 20 years of experience in Electrical engineering, with a proven record of managing complex projects and leading multidisciplinary teams across buildings, real estate, data center, commercial complexes, airports, hospitals, and industrial sectors.
In-depth knowledge of Electrical systems, including EHV substations, electrical power distribution, system study with expertise in designing solutions tailored to the unique requirements of real estate data center, commercial complexes, airport, and industrial facilities. In depth knowledge of Electrical equipment and their procurement activities.
Exposure in industry-standard software tools for MEP design and analysis (e.g., AutoCAD, BIM, 3D Environment, Revit, Analytical Software etc.).
Strong leadership, communication, and people skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients, team members, and stakeholders across diverse project types and sectors.
Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards, with a focus on meeting the specific needs and challenges of data center, commercial, airport, and industrial projects.
Experience working in a consulting engineering environment, preferably within the AEC (Architecture, Engineering, and Construction) industry.
Commitment to continuous professional development and staying current with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a reputed Institute. Relevant Post Graduation or doctorate will be an added advantage.
