Job Description

The position is in based in Monterrey, México.

  • Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit. Disciplines under this manager responsibility are: Alignment, civil, structural, architectural, transit and ancillary/utilities relocation.

  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative.

  • Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues. At this level, the individual will have demonstrated understanding of project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence.

  • Demonstrates mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual operations problems, determining operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for diverse engineering activities.

  • Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.

  • Maintains constant communication with client in order to keep them informed and to discuss all technical and scope related topics of the civil, architectural, ancillary work and alignment disciplines.

  • Ensures that the deliverables that are within the disciplines listed above are delivered to the client on time and meeting clients quality standards.

  • Coordinates a team of designers and technical drawers (Models and auto-CAD specialists) thru discipline leaders and ensure all of his team members are informed of all project issues, particularly promoting the team and inter-disciplines communications.

  • Ensures all sub contractors are aligned with project objectives, regarding quality, cost and scheduling.

  • Makes recommendations regarding the strategy to develop the services in the most efficient way in order to meet the project milestones and cost.

  • Must have a holistic project knowledge and senior judgement in order to establish or change the priorities to his team.

  • Must thoroughly read the contract terms, the scope and the schedule to be able to identify if a client´s request is a change order or is part of the scope, or if a deliverable is delayed or ahead of the schedule.

  • Works in daily coordination and communication with the PM, project director, the other senior technical coordinators (MEP and admin), project control specialist, contract management and change order manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Civil engineer or similar + 10 YEARS or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership

  • Infrastructure and large-scale projects, preferably railways

  • Coordination of engineering teams

  • Fluent in English and Spanish

Preferences:

  • 15+ years of experience in related position
