Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Digital Consultant to support our Canada Region Digital Consulting Business Line in Toronto, Canada. This role can be based out of any of our Greater Toronto Area offices and has flexible work options.

As a member of the Canada Region digital leadership team, you will work with professionals across all business lines in the geography and around the world to advance AECOM’s global digital consulting strategies and projects. The regional digital strategy is closely coordinated and integrated with the overall regional growth strategy; however, this role is expected to support the build an independent digital consulting business.

In addition to a strong technical ability, you will have an innovative approach and ability to take on responsibility, communicate clearly and effectively, be organized and work collaboratively with other team members. This position is ideal for an individual who possesses technical (engineering) ability, digital ability and people skills.

The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate a positive can-do attitude, is customer focused, a critical thinker and problem solver and ready to apply their knowledge and skill sets to establish a rewarding, long-term career utilizing principles and methods for AEC Digital Consulting projects and business development.

A Senior Digital Solutions Strategist typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

  • Developing strong relationships with AECOM clients in the engineering and construction sectors and acquire a thorough understanding their business objectives and digital needs.

  • Identifying new technologies that will help improve efficiency and drive customer satisfaction for Digital Consulting clients

  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand current state/maturity in order to recommend appropriate digital solutions to clients, including development of business cases

  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for clients on digital tools and technologies

  • Develop strategies to improve clients digital maturity and drive business value

  • Advise clients on the best use of digital tools and technologies, such as project management software, BIM, and construction management systems.

  • Stay updated with emerging digital trends and technologies in the engineering and construction sectors, integrating them into client solution proposals

  • Craft a positive, fair, and open work environment where team can freely report business challenges and exchange knowledge to improve and achieve common goals, to support all aspects of a client organization’s digital strategy

  • Proposal writing and business development.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma (Sciences, Engineering, Finance, Accounting, Information Technology etc.) + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Have practical knowledge in the area of public sector infrastructure

  • Have practical knowledge in transportation infrastructure, water infrastructure, asset management, or program management

  • Articulate and confident, with excellent presentation skills (both oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Construction or related field AND digital consulting working experience

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Information Technology or related field AND working experience in the engineering or construction industry

  • Relevant certifications (PMP, BIM, P Eng) and MBA are a bonus

  • Experience in water or transportation sectors

  • Knowledge of relevant industry solutions such as Autodesk Construction Cloud is a bonus

  • Exposure to project or program management within the engineering/construction industry. An understanding of construction workflows, processes, and challenges is a bonus.

  • Experience in building a business case for digital solutions capability development, defining the rollout plan, and supporting ongoing sustainment model by providing accurate research and inputs within enterprise frameworks

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • 10+ years of working or leadership experience related to digital product management or digital transformation or platform and solutions design architecture, and business case development.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $130,000.00.
