Job Description

Aecom Mississauga is hiring an Aviation ORAT Lead.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • The ORAT Lead holds ultimate responsibility for executing the ORAT program as an integral part of the airport's development initiatives.

  • Oversees the implementation of the ORAT program, ensuring all airport operations and stakeholders are fully prepared for the transition and launch of new facilities.

  • Formulates the strategy for the ORAT program and sets ORAT milestones aligned with the start of operations.

  • Guides the ORAT program and offers leadership to the ORAT Functional Leads.

  • Directs and advises the ORAT Functional Leads and Subject Matter Experts.

  • Pinpoints dependencies, key statuses, and review milestones in sync with the ORAT timeline leading up to the airport's opening.

  • Collaborates with workstream leads and key ORAT stakeholders to craft the ORAT timeline and dependencies necessary for opening.

  • Acts as the primary liaison with the airport executive management team, continuously monitoring and reporting on the readiness of the new facility.

  • Handles the resolution of all ORAT SPOC conflicts, identifying and escalating any potential risks to the ORAT steering committee or airport executive management team.

  • Communicates significant operational risks to the airport executive management team and the ORAT steering committee.

  • Evaluates, revises, and approves workstream plans for facilities, personnel, systems, and processes.

  • Provides coaching, mentoring, and career development support for airport-specific staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant discipline + 12 years experience in an on-site permitting management role

  • 4+ years leadership experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Typically requires at least 20 years of professional experience, with a decade spent in an on-site permitting management or leadership capacity.

  • Has successfully led at least one ORAT program as the ORAT Lead.

  • Proven extensive expertise in the aviation sector, especially in airport and airline operations.

  • Exhibits strong organizational and communication abilities.

  • Capable of evaluating complex ORAT challenges and delivering innovative solutions.

  • Possesses outstanding skills in stakeholder engagement and communication, with the ability to lead meetings and workshops involving large groups of both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Experienced in managing relationships with airport executives and senior stakeholders, providing strategic-level reporting to support informed decision-making.

  • Ideal requirement includes ORAT experience on major international airport projects exceeding CAD $500M in value.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $170,000.00 - $275,000.00.
