Job Summary

AECOM have an exciting opportunity for an ICT Consultant to join our Buildings + Places team, based in Melbourne. The role is ideal for a professional with a strong technical background, looking for the next step in their career and have an interest in developing detailed design solutions and contributing to the design and delivery of a range of exciting Audio Visual, Information Communications Technology and Security projects. The projects span a diverse range of the construction sector including Education, Defence, High-Reliability Data Centres, Commercial, Hospitality, Retail and Health.

As an ICT Consultant you will:

  • Undertake engineering design from concept through detailed design phases for ICT Network (LAN, WAN, VoIP and Wireless), Network Security and ICT Systems.

  • Contribute to the design and documentation of IT systems, including cost plan advice for all aspects of ICT systems

  • Provide detailed coordination between ICT systems, Building Systems and audio visual systems

  • Contribute to project stakeholder engagement and project Brief confirmation and sign off.

  • Provide ICT Project Management through the lifecycle of the ICT project.

  • Coordinate the communications spatials and reticulation with the building services, architecture and structural design.

  • Coordinate enabling design provisions such as Power, Cooling and redundancy requirements.

  • Design Documentation using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD ABS / Revit.

  • Coordinate interfaces to the communications network including security, AV, BMS, fire protection etc.

  • Contribute to the delivery of the telecommunications scope, in adherence to project quality systems, program and budgets.

  • Participate in the AECOM in-house local and national AV, ICT, and Acoustics groups.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree qualification

  • Specialist certification such as InfoComm CTS, or a willingness to undertake this certification.

  • Several years of demonstrated experience in the Audio Visual and communications engineering field.

  • A strong team participation character.

  • A good understanding of other building services.

  • Demonstrated experience in working in multi-disciplinary project teams.

  • Ability to achieve and maintain high levels of quality and consistency of outputs.

  • Ability to work autonomously and contribute to the quality of deliverables and meeting deadlines.

  • High levels of written and oral communication.

A willingness to travel, from time to time, to support specific client requirements.
