Job Description
AECOM Melbourne’s Transport Planning and Advisory team are a trusted advisor to the State’s most important and influential transport clients – the Department of Transport and Planning, Level Crossing Removal Project, Major Road Projects Victoria, V/Line, and more.
We are currently looking for an experienced Principal-level Transport and Traffic Engineer to join our team.
What will a day in this role look like:
Lead and manage complex transport engineering and traffic impact assessment projects.
Collaborate with transport sector teams (Highways, Aviation) and other market sectors (Energy, Environment, Buildings & Places) on project development and transport assessments.
Take a leadership role in a multi-disciplinary team on major transport infrastructure projects in Victoria.
Support business development to grow the team’s future work pipeline and foster key client relationships.
Manage, train, and develop junior team members while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Qualifications
What are we looking for from you?
A degree in Transport/Traffic Engineering, Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, or similar.
10-15 years of experience in transport planning and/or traffic engineering.
Proven track record of delivering projects within the Australian transport sector.
Strong industry network and recognition as a specialist in your technical discipline.
Strong communication skills, commitment to developing junior team members, and delivering optimal outcomes for clients.
You enjoy working in and leading teams, being accountable for your work, and influencing project performance. You enjoy developing and nurturing relationships within AECOM and across the industry, whether through project work, client initiatives or industry associations. You are positive, looking at challenges as opportunities to innovate, collaborate and grow. You are a highly motivated individual with excellent communication skills. You care about delivering the right solution, on time, every time.
