Job Summary

AECOM is looking for a Network Engineer with security engineering experience to plan and deploy a Windows and Hypervisor-V framework. The main task of a network engineer is to plan, design, optimize, implement, audit, and troubleshoot the network system to improve the efficiency of the organization. The successful candidate should experience in Network Engineering, Security Engineering, developing process & procedures, Tech Writing, Change/Configuration Mgmt., and Communications Mgmt. The ideal candidate should have a thorough knowledge and a multi-branched background that should include expertise from the fields of information technology, network and engineering, and information security.

Network Engineer Job Responsibilities

  • Perform application maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches, hot fixes and security configurations

  • Identifying, monitoring, and defining the requirements of the overall security of the system.

  • Support the integration/configuration of tools and/or systems that provide analysis and display, security solutions, data management, and end-to-end performance evaluation.

  • Modifying the technical, legal, and regulatory aspects of the system security.

  • Monitor performance and ensure system/connection availability and reliability

  • Perform system health data collection and analyses.

  • Rapidly respond to system anomalies.

  • Ability to install, configure and troubleshoot, but not limited to:

  • Databases

  • SharePoint

  • Active Directory

  • Virtual Private Networks

  • Microsoft Enterprise products

  • Monitor system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning

  • Provide Level-2/3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues

  • Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s security team

  • Provide input on the creation of technical documents, including System Requirements/Architecture and Design, User’s Manuals, Training Materials, and Installation Guides

  • Defining and maintaining security policies

  • Maintaining switches and servers

  • Maintains effective working relationships with employees and customers

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

  • US Citizen

  • Experience in Windows platform

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.

  • 7+ years of experience in information technology or computer sciences.

  • Comprehend complex system infrastructure designs consisting of Windows, Linux/RHEL OS, networking equipment (routers, firewalls), and Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).

  • Experience with Windows/Linux System Administration.

  • Understand basic network protocols (TCP/UDP, HTTP).

  • Experience with Tenable Nessus.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred; equivalent experience may be substituted.

  • MCSE, MCITP, CCNA Certifications preferred.

  • Security certification such as: CISSP, SANS GIAC, Security+, Network+, Linux+, MCSE, RHCE, CCNA-Security, etc., desired.

Clearance

  • Must possess an active Top-Secret clearance and clearable to TS/SCI
