Job Description

AECOM is seeking highly motivated Water Resources Engineers to join our growing water resources team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). These positions will be instrumental in supporting high-quality water resources projects across the region.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Undertake water resources projects from inception to completion, with senior oversight and junior support.

  • Provide input to project plans, including scopes of work, budgets, and schedules.

  • Be a part of multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless integration of project components.

  • Prepare and review technical reports, design drawings, specifications, and tender documents.

  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a collaborative and supportive team environment.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Civil Engineering, or a related field + 4years of relevant experience in water resources engineering or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario.

  • Strong technical background in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, and water quality.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

  • Proficiency in water resources modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, InfoWorks, etc.).

  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Design and construction experience related to channels, stormwater, and/or erosion and slope stability projects.

  • Experience including preparation of cost estimates and tender packages as well as contract administration.

  • Experience with Dams (DSRs, decommissioning, dam break modelling, CDA membership)

  • Experience with Fluvial Geomorphology / Natural Channel design.

  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling.

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced working knowledge of GIS.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $78,000.00 - $120,000.00.
