Job Description

Are you ready to lead transformative water resources projects that shape the future of urban infrastructure in one of Canada's most dynamic regions? AECOM is seeking a visionary Water Resources Practice Lead to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). As a leader in the field, you'll have the opportunity to work on groundbreaking projects that make a tangible impact on communities, ecosystems, and economies.

This position can be based out of any of our Ontario offices but will focus mainly on the GTA so the preference would be to be based in either the Markham or Mississauga offices.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop, communicate, and own the deployment of the strategy to advance AECOM’s position in the Water Resources market sector as serviced by the Water team across Ontario, with a focus on growing the team and delivery capabilities in the GTA.

  • Work directly with clients to enhance project delivery and outcomes, and to drive to effective client relationship building.

  • Success will be measured in part through the following:

  • Regularly meet with water resources group leaders across the province to balance workload and coordinate priorities.

  • Staff retention and team growth

  • Identification and solicitation of key hires to capitalize on growth and deploy succession planning.

  • Leading or establishing the coordination of the team's participation in key conferences and sponsorship opportunities related to the respective market sector

  • Work with market sector leads to ensure the accuracy of the Salesforce pipeline information relating to the opportunities in the respective market sector

  • Leading and representing the local market sector to the internal AECOM network, including Canada’s Water Region Business Line Leader (RBLL), Director of Operations, and Americas Water Business Line Market Sector Leaders

  • Identification of top clients and key pursuits

  • Participation as capture manager on top/key pursuits

  • Establishment and enhancement of key client relationships, along with regular touch-base meetings with key clients within the market sector

  • Researching, interpreting, and reporting client trends for the purpose of formulating strategy

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Water Resources, Civil Engineering, or a related field;

  • 10+ years of water resources project experience.

  • Registered as a P.Eng. and eligible to practice within the Province of Ontario.

  • Knowledge of water resources policies and practices.

  • Ability to effectively manage and coordinate teams to realize the water resources growth strategy and deliver client work.

  • Well-developed ability to delegate to less experienced staff is an asset.

  • Design and construction experience related to transportation/transit infrastructure, stormwater, and/or erosion and slope stability projects will be considered an asset.

  • Experience including preparation of cost estimates and tender packages as well as contract administration.

  • Experience with various water resources modeling programs (e.g., HEC-RAS, SWMM, SWMHYMO, VISUAL OTTHYMO, InfoWorks, etc.).

  • Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Fluvial Geomorphology/Natural Channel design would be considered a strong asset.

  • Experience with Dams (DSRs, decommissioning, dam break modelling, CDA membership)

  • Experience with 2D hydraulic modeling would be an asset.

  • PMP Designation.

  • Experience in proposal preparation, including determining work scope, preparing time task breakdowns, and preparing text sections on technical approach, team and project experience, etc.

  • Interested and capable of taking on Project Management duties (schedule and budget control, client contact, proposal writing, etc.)

  • Strong computer skills, including advanced working knowledge of GIS.

Additional Information

  • Sponsorship for Canadian employment authorization is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $140,000.00 - $200,000.00.
