Our successful Roads team have a new vacancy for a Regional Director.

You will:

  • Provide Health & Safety leadership to the district team consistent with AECOM’s safety policies and procedures to deliver a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members.

  • Be responsible for business development activities for Roads Projects (primarily urban sustainable transport projects) in the Manchester area and also support the wider North Team to increase market share.

  • Develop sound client relationships, being alert to commercial opportunities, identifying emerging opportunities and developing strategies to fully exploit them.

  • Lead, or assist with, the preparation of major pursuits and proposals.

  • Support Sector Operations Management to deliver the required Financial KPI’s within the Northern District.

  • Lead our Manchester team, ensuring the necessary levels and distribution of appropriate resources locally for the pipeline of work to be delivered efficiently and to line manage a team in the performance of their duties.

  • Following successful accreditation on the AECOM project management system act as a Project Approver and/or Project Manager including monitoring financial performance. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided.

  • Develop and maintain a philosophy and attitude of sound risk management through comprehensive reviews of contractual risk on projects, conformity with risk management procedures and the continuing development of good practice.

  • Assist in the wider corporate and management functions of the Transportation business line to ensure continuing growth and development overall.

Minimum Requirements

You will have:

  • A good industry profile in the Greater Manchester area, with the gravitas to represent AECOM with major Local Authority clients.

  • Demonstrable strength in business development and an excellent knowledge of the Greater Manchester Local Authority market place.

  • A successful track record in the management and delivery of a portfolio of traffic engineering projects, particularly sustainable infrastructure projects.

  • An ability to demonstrate high level of experience and expertise in the full range of local roads/traffic engineering projects.

  • An ability to deal directly with clients and engage and influence at a senior level within client organisations.

  • A successful track record of delivery of bids and proposals.

  • A proven ability to manage and growing a team, with strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and maintain a highly motivated project delivery team

  • Strong project delivery skills with an ability to effectively manage project commercial risks.
