Job Description

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a BIM Specialist supporting our increasing portfolio of work in our UK&I Architecture and Design team. We are working closely with some of the UK’s most established and recognizable companies, and you will be involved in a wide range of projects that are diverse and technically demanding. We also have an emerging international portfolio. Reporting to the Design or BIM Lead, you will assist and lead in the successful delivery of a minimum of BIM Level 2 information on projects from concept to construction

Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • The use of engineering knowledge and experience to apply technical and practical engineering coordination skills in a BIM environment

  • Model delivery, reviewing and coordinating to ensure that company and project standards are maintained on all deliverables.

  • Working as a BIM coordinater or Information Manager

  • Resolving complex technical modelling issues An awareness that the modelling component of the project is subject to budget and deadline constraints

  • Mentoring other members in the team in their development

  • Document management in a range of common data environments (BIM360 docs, Project Wise)

  • Understanding the use of workflows within CDE’s

  • Devising and implementing workflows in a CDE Working in collaboration with other design disciplines applying BIM solutions to ensure the integrity of the overall design.

  • Ensuring compliance with AECOM BIM standards and (inter)national BIM standards (ISO19650)

  • Providing modelling guidance to other members of the BIM team

  • Liaison with the project team, client and consultants to review BIM models for the project and make any necessary amendments

  • Understanding and developing automated routines for repetitive modelling tasks

  • Devising and delivering training materials to upskill other members of staff

  • Taking roles in digital research and development projects and communities of practice at a global level.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proven experience in large-scale engineering and design projects

  • Degree and/or qualification in a relevant technical subject including elements of Modelling (HND/HNC or equivalent)

  • Expert user of AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Revit, BIM360docs and other Autodesk packages

  • Extensive BIM modelling experience

  • Demonstrable experience working as a BIM coordinator

  • Ability to apply design experience to the models that are produced

  • Proven experience in defining BIM outcomes

  • Experience in setting up and coordinating a BIM Protocol and Execution Plan for a given project
