Our multidisciplinary team of experts in the fields of transportation, mobility, water, planning and project financing combine their knowledge to provide our public and private clients the level of expertise required for their needs. We can offer our expertise globally and delivery it locally.
As a Traction Power Engineer you will contribute to concept design, develop preliminary and detailed traction power substation designs for Project Manager or discipline manager check and approval as well as attend design team meetings as appropriate.
The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to design development and design risk and mitigation.
Attend design team meetings as appropriate.
Obtain design information from sub-consultants/equipment suppliers.
Produce design information including calculations and design sketches.
Carry out risk assessments and provision of design information for Health and Safety file.
Understand own and team contribution and impact on projects and develop an awareness of the implications for projects through the project management system.
Work within the financial and programme constraints and consider financial implications in producing design options.
Contribute and provide information for fee proposals.
Mentor junior engineers.
Experience and Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience required as a Rail Electrical Engineer/ Traction Power Engineer
Good working knowledge and demonstrable experience in AC and/or DC railway traction power , with involvement in design and construction projects.
Experience in Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
Experience in Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety (RAMS)
Languages: English B2
- BEng Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Degree. MSc. preferred.
