We are currently recruiting a designer/engineer specialized in aviation , specifically in geometric design and drainage related to airfields, aprons, taxiways, runways, and associated elements, to join our busy and expanding experienced team. This person would be part of our Enterprise Capabilities team in Madrid, but would work on a daily basis with a local team based on the United Stated, collaborating with them as an integrated member of the design team, led and supervised by them.

The responsibilities of this role include:

  • Performs specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.

  • Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered.

  • Provides guidance to entry level engineers.

  • Develops design by gathering, correlating, and analyzing engineering data using computer software and established procedures and standards.

  • When possible, collects and analyses information from discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.

  • Fully develops the design content by applying both design and technical knowledge to ensure the production of high-quality outputs by following project timelines.

  • Participates in the interdisciplinary reviews of project deliverables, including BIM spatial reviews (virtual walkthroughs and clash detection.

  • Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations, specifications, sketches, diagrams, specific discipline BIM models, drawings, reports and tender documents. Identifies discrepancies in results and proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered.

  • Performs work under the agreed-upon budget and schedule with moderate supervision.

  • Coordinates with other discipline Engineers as applicable for the design process's continuity.

  • Maintains and develops the highest level of technical skills and abilities, ensuring the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy to design instructions. Coordinates with authorities for scheme approvals.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • Expert in the use of Civil3D/AutoCAD. Software accreditation will be considered favorable.

  • Experience (+5 years) in Airfield/Aviation Civil Engineering Design is an absolute requirement.

  • Fluent in English (oral and written).

Preferred Qualifications

  • BEng/BSc (Civil Engineering/Transportation) or equivalent
