Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Sr Risk Manager to be based Los Angeles, CA.

This position is responsible for:

  • Creating a culture for value optimization through active risk management across our program delivery programs and internally.

  • Leading, promoting, setting up and implementing program risk management systems on large scale program delivery contracts.

  • Leading, promoting, setting up and implementing value seeking processes to increase value delivery to our clients.

  • Acting as an ambassador for risk management, coaching others in the requirements, processes and benefits of risk management.

To do this, the position will:

  • Lead the Risk Management function at a program level to provide effective direction and motivation.

  • Establish Value Optimization processes at a program level to seek opportunities to improve quality, performance or cost across the program.

  • Manage project level risk management and value management staff.

  • Ensure board adoption of risk and value practices though the AECOM program delivery business.

  • Support the business leadership in managing risk and value in its internal operations.

  • Use knowledge and experience to ensure identification and management of all significant risks to achievement of program objectives.

Specific Activities include:

  • Ensuring that resources are made available to maintain efficient and timely capture and treatment of risks and opportunities.

  • Development and implementation of program risk management plans.

  • Delivery of discrete risk interventions and imbedded risk management services, as part of the Development team.

  • Delivery of value and reduction of risk exposure through active mitigation of threats and maximization of opportunities.

  • Facilitation of workshops in the client’s environment, using advanced methods for risk, value and lessons learnt processes.

  • Undertaking day-to-day risk management activities including identification, prioritization, register management, action planning and monitoring

  • Production of periodic risk reporting including profiled risk expenditure, impacted risk / drawdown and risk exposure changes

  • Developing and undertaking advanced Quantitative Risk Analysis including Cost, Schedule and integrated Cost and Schedule analyses, to enable robust forecasting and tracking of risk exposure.

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Leads and directs the work of others.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

BA/BS + 10 Years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadership.

Preferred Experience:

12 years of demonstrated leadership of multi-disciplinary teams.

Understanding of planning, constructability, supply chain/logistics, construction delivery approaches and cost management.

Experience of program and project delivery on major (over $1bn) construction programs

Extensive experience in the application of Quantitative Risk Analysis (QRA) techniques and tools.

Ability to lead workshops on large and complex projects with a wide variety of stakeholders.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $141,243.45 - $261,300.39.
