Job Description
AECOM is seeking Estimators specializing in general construction estimatingto be based in New York, NY. Will operate as an Estimator working directly with the NYC SCA on projects related to schools throughout New York City and the surrounding boroughs.
Responsibilities:
Confer with a broad range of technical, professional, and managerial personnel as well as designers, consultants, and contractors to coordinate and establish a detailed cost estimate.
Prepare and/or ensure the preparation of detailed cost estimates for all phases of design and/or construction.
Supervise the development of quantity surveys and cost evaluations relating to design documents, contract drawings, specifications, or contract changes.
Review and report on contract estimates prepared by private consultants; recommend if an estimate is appropriate for SCA's implementation.
Participate in cost negotiations.
Plan, assign and review the cost-estimating work of estimates.
Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to effect cost reduction.
Utilize computer-based estimating software and cost databases to enhance estimation accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Preferred Requirements :
Specializing in General Construction estimating
Excellence in calculating prime time, labor escalation, and unstandardized coefficient.
Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in architecture, construction management, engineering, environmental services, or related coursework.
8 years of experience as an estimator

Relocation is not available for this position.
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $95,000.00 - $120,000.00.
