Job Summary

AECOM is currently seeking a Facades Director to be based in Central London. You will work with our senior leaders to further develop an established and profitable business by focusing on the enhancement of our technical delivery and strategic development. This could be a role for an Associate Director or Technical Director ready to take on the challenge of more direct leadership.

We have multiple revenue streams and will require you to ensure these are maintained and secured for the future through excellent project delivery, client relationship engagement and business development.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an established professional to build on the hard work that we have put in to carve out a healthy and respected expertise-based business that is a front runner in a fast growing and relatively new specialist consulting area.

Our Civil & Structural division consists of over 450 Engineers nationwide who collaborate with our clients to design and problem solve for both public and private sector projects within residential, commercial, aviation, defence, healthcare, education, pharmaceutical, sports, and leisure.

About Our Team

We are a relatively new team that has grown over the last five years. Our current permanent headcount is 15 with plans to expand over the coming year. We provide detailed design and calculation services as well as best practice advisory and third party document reviews.

Our team has a culture of working hard to meet our deadlines whilst balancing multiple projects and client expectations in a supportive and team focused environment.

We are based in the centre of London in a modern and serviced office where we work alongside 800 other multi-disciplinary Engineers and Managers who provide consultancy services for large scale developments both in the public and private sectors.

Job Responsibilities

  • Working closely with our clients to enhance our relationships and provide an exemplary level of outputs with a focus on quality, design and on time delivery.

  • You will work to enhance the speed and accuracy of our report writing by focusing on training initiatives and key strategic hires.

  • You will strive to further develop our facades offering in the UK and international markets.

  • Oversee the management of multiple projects whilst working with the wider multidisciplinary business.

  • Contribute and to our business development and marketing efforts.

  • You will sign off designs and calculations and provide high-level management and solutions for challenging reports and outputs.

  • You will coordinate operations and liaise with cost consultants, architects, sub-contractors, MEP consultants ect.

Minimum Requirements

  • Established track record as a Director within a consultancy environment with leadership, reporting, financial ownership and business development responsibilities.

  • Relevant degree or professional qualifications and clear career development.

  • Advanced technical understanding of facade construction consultancy processes and working methods.

  • Presentation and tender leading experience.

  • Clear people management and mentoring experience.

  • You will be connected and active in the UK facades market with existing relationships and contacts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A passion for innovative design.

  • Motivated and self-driven.

  • Ideally, you will live locally to the office or be willing to relocate.

  • Comfortable to travel locally and internationally for key client meetings.
