Job Summary:

Our expanding Asset Management Group is seeking Monitoring Engineer candidates who can support ongoing growth.

The Asset Monitoring Team specialise in measuring and forecasting dynamic behaviour and health of civil infrastructure and earthworks using established and innovative technologies, including drones. With clients, we specify, develop and implement instrumentation and monitoring (I&M) systems to baseline performance, detect behaviour and mitigate risk of failure. We offer consultancy to optimise construction methodologies, and asset management strategies through analytics and early warnings.

The role will require supporting the Project managers and directors in technical, commercial and operational roles in an expanding team.

Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Proactively promoting and maintaining a safe working environment for all staff

  • Coordination, mentoring and managing of I&M engineers and teams

  • Preparation and verification of project documentation such as package plans, action plans and safety assessments.

  • Developing I&M specifications, method statements, action plans and regimes.

  • Supporting preparation of work quotations and contract T&Cs.

  • Data visualisation, analysis and interpretation of results in accordance with the scope and technical standards and/or statutory requirements.

  • Planning site work activities.

  • Undertaking site-based duties, including installation, commissioning and maintenance of monitoring instrumentation and traditional optical surveying/monitoring.

  • Production of well written technical reports and other deliverables.

Minimum Requirements

  • Availability to travel and to occasionally work on site performing I&M installation, operation, and maintenance tasks

  • Work experience in construction/civil engineering/surveying or I&M industry

  • Proven experience in surveying, investigating and/or monitoring civils assets e.g. structures, earthworks.

  • Proven experience and familiarity with geotechnical I&M, remote condition monitoring systems and geomatics technologies and most common software.

  • Knowledge of I&M data logging and communications systems.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Positive leadership attitude and teamwork mind set

  • Organisational skills in planning, preparation, execution and follow up.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Self-motivated, able to operate remotely and upon own initiative

  • Positive and enthusiastic with an exceptional work ethic to deliver results

  • Able to operate and demonstrate the highest levels of integrity

  • Nottingham or Birmingham based

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant Degree/MSc

  • Chartered or proactively working towards professional registration or certificate
