Job Description

  • Works under limited supervision.

  • Provides training and technical support to design staff on the Building Information Modeling system, which provides 3D models using project specifications and content.

  • Direct project support and production to assigned projects and create the drawings as required using the standards and content to meet the job requirements (objects within the drawing, doors, lights, etc.).

BIM Manager

The BIM Manager will be responsible for delivering the organisation’s technology strategy and promoting the benefits of digital ways of working. Supporting delivery teams in ensuring that projects run smoothly, and project information models are delivered on time. The role involves working closely with BIM coordinators who are responsible for managing the digital process.

Role Accountabilities:

  • Acting as the intermediary between designers, clients, and architects so that projects remain efficient and effective

  • Working closely with BIM coordinators, who are responsible for producing project information models 

  • Ensuring that BIM execution plans and ancillary documents are produced and maintained for all projects

  • Completing supply chain assessments

  • Supporting and auditing the project teams and flagging non-compliances

  • Training or upskilling colleagues and delivery partners in specific software programmes

  • Ensuring staff have access to the tools and equipment they required to undertake task and activities

  • Provide strategic input and directions to IT on the procurement of the correct hardware and software in order to keep technology solutions effective

  • Producing monthly reports for senior team members and client teams, to identify issues and measure overall BIM performance on projects

  • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in building technology

  • Driving the implementation of digital solutions and strategies on projects and programmes

  • Leading meetings to identify project tasks and resolve issues

  • Overseeing projects BIM fee expenditure, workload, and pipeline of work

  • Supporting the career development, coaching, and mentoring of team members

  • Raising the profile of BIM within across organisations and sectors

  • Adhering to the latest industry standards and best practice

Experience:

  • Ability to work independently, manage deliverables and accurately estimate project lead times

  • Strong design sensibilities and solid model authoring abilities will be vital

  • Ability to work and coordinate with key stakeholders

  • Ability to write and edit documentation, both internal and external, pertaining to the product use by clients

  • Track record of delivering projects on time, to a high standard and within fee allowance

  • Hands on experience within the construction industry will be greatly beneficial

  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to write and edit documentation, both internal and external

  • Proficient in Autodesk Autodesk Revit, Navisworks/Solibri, CAD, CDE solutions such as ACC

  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating suite, Teams, SharePoint and PowerBI an advantage

Qualifications

  • At least three years working experience

  • Educated to degree level preferable i.e. have a degree in Architecture, Engineering, Computer Science or similar, or equivalent experience
