Job Description

Are you a MEP Quantity Surveyor looking to work on building projects that can change the world, projects that are always more complex and innovative than the last?

If so, we are looking for an experienced MEP Quantity Surveyor to join our team in the North of England (Liverpool, Leeds, or Manchester) to support our exciting growth plans to work within the commercial, residential, healthcare,science and education sectors . You will be joining a team of like-minded experts that have a passion for innovation and delivering cutting edge solutions.

The Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science centres, The Bank of England, BBC Broadcasting house, The Titanic building in Belfast and the St Pancras Chambers Hotel in London to name but a few and, in the Northern region, the Shakespeare North Theatre, the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal, and 100 &101 Embankment for Ask Developments.

About Our Team:

We are a team of dedicated cost managers providing commercial advice to blue chip clients across the north of England including commercial developers, housing associations, education institutions, and local central & local government. We aim to provide a “best in class” service that provides our clients with cost certainty on their projects and to protect their commercial objectives at all times.

Within the role of MEP project surveyor, your role will include but not be limited to the following job responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide full suite of Mechanical & Electrical Cost Management duties to AECOM clients.

  • Lead Mechanical & Electrical Cost Management commissions, taking responsibility for their successful delivery.

  • Provide effective support and mentoring to Graduates and Apprentices.

  • Ensures commissions are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Develops strong reciprocal relationships with clients and members of the project team.

  • Be an interface with AECOM clients (new and existing).

  • Ensure all staff members reporting to you have current and relevant training.

  • Delivery of Mechanical & Electrical Cost Management outputs, in accordance with agreed timescales and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Degree Qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying / Cost Management.

  • Proven experience in a consulting or contractor environment providing the full spectrum of Mechanical & Electrical CM services including Pre-Contract Estimating; Procurement; Contract Administration, Cost Reporting and Final Account resolution.

  • Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation.

  • Excellent IT Skills and the ability to utilise digital measurement, cost planning and tender document tools shall be essential.

  • Experience of project types/sizes/sectors within our active sectors in the UK (and preferably the North) – i.e. Commercial Offices, Residential, Mixed Use, Education, Healthcare, and Industrial

  • Able to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Associate Mechanical & Electrical Cost Managers and Directors in the delivery of some of our projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professionally Qualified – ideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.

  • CSCS card

  • Ability to obtain SC clearance
