Our rapidly growing stakeholder engagement team plays a key role in delivering major infrastructure and development projects. We have opportunities across the UK to join our team at a number of grades including: associate director, principal, senior consultant and consultant.

The majority of the team’s work revolves around engagement, consultation and communications during the consenting or construction phase of projects. We have been involved in a range of high profile projects, across a range of sectors including:

  • HS2, Phases 1 and 2;

  • A303 Stonehenge, M54, A27, A46 and A428 schemes for Highways England;

  • Luton airport expansion;

  • Major station and network upgrade works at Waterloo and Kings Cross and on the Transpennine route for Network Rail;

  • Multiple developments for Homes England;

  • Thames Tideway Tunnel for Thames Water; and

  • Multiple energy and waste management facilities across the UK.

The successful candidate will be involved in:

  • Delivering a range of stakeholder engagement projects, with a focus on pre-application consultation and engagement for infrastructure development projects;

  • Initiatives to support growth of the stakeholder engagement service across AECOM, with a focus on providing advice and support to teams across the UK; and

  • Building relationships across AECOM’s wider business to identify and develop opportunities for co-operation, with a focus on the transportation, water and power sectors.

The team currently comes from a wide range of backgrounds, and we would be particularly interested in hearing from candidates with experience of stakeholder engagement, consultation or communications on complex and high-profile projects. Experience of working on infrastructure or development schemes is an advantage.

Minimum Requirements

  • Experience of delivering stakeholder engagement, statutory consultation or communications for complex projects, ideally related to infrastructure development;

  • For more senior roles we are looking for people with experience of managing and developing successful teams and a passion for helping people maximise their potential;

  • Experience or interest in industry sectors relevant to AECOM’s business (e.g. transport, energy, water, residential development, commercial development);

  • Passionate about delivering effective communications with a high standard of personal communication skills;

  • Confident engaging with people in different sectors and disciplines, presenting to peers and clients, and communicating with statutory and community stakeholders; and

  • Willingness to travel and work flexibly.

Preferred Qualifications

Minimum qualification is a degree.
