Job Description
AECOM is seeking an energeti c Geotechnical Engineering Graduate . This position can be based out of one of our offices in Ontario.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conducting field-related work, including coordination with subcontractors, conducting site visits, conducting geotechnical field investigations, and monitoring of construction activities (grading, instrumentation installation, and monitoring).
Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of a professional engineer.
Conducting engineering design under the supervision of a professional engineer.
Creating designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of a professional engineer.
Use computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.
Building analytic and design skills.
Performing work in accordance with agreed-upon budget and schedule under supervision.
Analyzing and preparing recommendations and reports for projects relating to foundation design including settlement analysis, seepage and slope stability, road structure design, and other geotechnical-related projects.
Communicating effectively with others within the team and with internal and external clients.
Supporting Senior Engineers with competitive proposals and work plans.
Providing guidance and troubleshooting for quality control testing and performance of earthworks such as fill compaction and excavations.
Traveling to work will be expected within Ontario, and potentially other provinces/territories in Canada.
You will have an opportunity to travel for site investigations, site inspections, and construction monitoring of projects within Canada
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering with emphasis on Geotechnical Engineering.
Preferred Skills/experience:
Coop terms of construction administration, or related experience within the civil, geological, or geotechnical engineering field.
Valid and unrestricted driver's license.
Willing and interested in working overtime and weekends
Experience in a team-related job setting is an asset
Knowledge and experience with various geotechnical software, such as Geostudios, Ensoft (LPile, Shaft, Apile), Settle 3D, etc.
Construction oversight, QAQC, contract administration.
Coordination of designs with drafting teams and/or personal proficiency with AutoCAD.
Highly developed written communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills; conduct yourself with integrity, work within multi-disciplined teams, deal with complex issues, and maintain effective working relationships.
Have a high level of initiative and enthusiasm for getting things done.
Proficient with MS Office Suite; excellent knowledge of Excel and Word.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $51,000.00 - $65,000.00.
