Job Description

AECOM's Hunt Valley Maryland Transportation group is seeking an Entry-Level Survey Technician for roadway/highway and other transportation projects. This is a great opportunity to learn from our experienced team and grow your career!

In this role, an Entry-Level Survey Technician's duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Performs a variety of tasks in support of survey or construction activities.

  • Duties may differ depending on the specialty area.

  • Activities may include setting up and operating equipment; inspecting equipment; inspection of engineering installations for compliance with specifications; maintaining project documentation; assisting with the building, repair, or maintenance of a structure or roadway.

  • Reports to the Survey Crew Chief/Party Chief and works closely with the Crew Chief and Instrument Operators to learn new skills, processes and procedures.

  • Relies on basic understanding of procedures and company policies to plan and accomplish basic goals.

  • Performs a variety of routine tasks and works under close supervision.

  • Entry-level position; may not require previous experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience working in construction helpful (especially, roadway/highway), but not required

  • Experience and/or willingness to perform SHA and other public sector work

  • Must have "team" attitude and communicate effectively

  • Able to operate a computer to log and record notes and information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $16.50/hour - $22.00/hour.
