Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Transportation Engineering Manager (Hybrid) for immediate employment in the Houston, TX office. The appropriately qualified applicant will have demonstrated experience in project management of multi-disciplinary transportation planning and design projects. The candidate can look forward to a client-focused position leading innovative solutions for transportation projects in Texas.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership: As a Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading, executing, and delivering a wide range of transportation planning and design projects. This involves overseeing project schedules, budgets, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality work.

  • Team Leadership: Take charge of a team of skilled planning and engineering professionals in Texas, driving them towards achieving business and project goals. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a culture of technical excellence and innovation.

  • Communication and Collaboration: Report directly to the Division Manager, keeping them informed about work activities, team operations, and project performance. Collaborate with the Division Manager to identify key hires and facilitate team growth.

  • Business Development: Spearhead business development strategies across a diverse range of transportation agencies from local to state and regional level. Identify growth opportunities, key clients, and actively pursue new prospects. Take the lead in proposal development, working closely with the Division Manager.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Registered as a professional engineer in the State of Texas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge and experience with the Texas Department of Transportation.

  • 15+ years of previous experience, including project management on transportation projects including Planning and Schematic/environmental projects

  • Experience with corridor and feasibility studies

  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, GIS, and traffic analysis and simulation software

  • Experience managing multidisciplinary project with subconsultants

  • Ability to promote and initiate transportation solutions for a broad application of client needs

  • Experience with Business Development/Client Relations

  • Experience with Client proposals and interviews

  • Experiences with Client contract document preparation

  • Excellent organization and communication skills and ability to manage a team

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $125,000.00 - $185,000.00.
